Well, today, or rather yesterday, was the end of the week that was my first exposure to the Buffyverse. For the past week, I have tried to pay special attention to that series. Within reason. For example, I saw no point in watching Angel last night, since I have stopped watching that show. However, now I need to explain what is so special about this series that I have dedicated a whole week to it. It is more than a series in which I have four favorite characters: two in BtVS and two in AtS. It is a series that has twice made me part of a group. A week ago, I explained how an April Fool's Day prank led to a week spent playing a game based partially on the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have not yet told what a week later, exactly eleven years ago, today, but that is not important yet. What is important in that, for one week, because of that series, I was once again part of the same group as my best friend.

Years later, when I was in college, that series once again allowed me to become part of a group. In the fall of 2001, I was in my first semester of living on campus at Saint Leo University as a transfer student. The date was a Tuesday in October, and my usual Tuesday night class had been cancelled, a fact for which I was glad, as writer's block had prevented me from finishing my assignment. I had writer's block for most of that fall, actually. Anyway, I was in my dorm room, reading urban legends online. I managed to scare myself, so when a couple of girls that were acquaintences with my roommate, invited me to watch Buffy with them, I agreed. And, that was how I become part of a group of friends, although it wasn't until the next semester that I really let myself become part of a group. The funny thing is, looking back, I realize that if I had kept to the solitary habits I had been developiing, I would never have been effected by hellweek, or all its sequels. And, looking back, I would still have chosen to become part of the group. And, I would not have had that chance if I had not agreed to watch Buffy with them one night in October of 2001.

By the way, the first episode I watched was Life Serial. In the spring, when I started watching the show regularly, the first episode I watched was the one about the hamburger place. I can't think of the title. The first episode of Angel that I tried watching was Lullabye, but I couldn't understand any of what was going on, and I was trying to watch it by myself. The first episode I actually watched all the way through was Couplet.

And, on another topic, this is begining of writing week, in commememoration of the invention of P.E.Island. I will explain that this afternoon when I get home from work. Right now, I need to finish preparing my two weeks notice.
